Installing the Addon for XBMC
XBMC version Dharma is supported, and you can install the addon from the official repository. Installation instructions may vary from skin to skin, so these instructions will follow the default skin Confluence. To install the addon, go to System -> Add-ons -> Get Add-ons -> XBMC.org Add-ons. From the "Program Add-ons" section, choose ShareThe.TV and install the addon. Once installation is complete, hit the context button ('c' on the keyboard) on the addon and choose 'Configure' in the popup. You'll be presented with the configuration options. Enter your email and password to setup the account. That's it! The addon will automatically update your library if you so choose or an update can be manually triggered by selecting the ShareThe.TV addon from the Programs section. If you want your library to auto-submit, you'll have to manually run the addon once to enable the auto-submitting.
Please note: There is no XBMC Eden 11.0 supported version of the ShareThe.TV addon. A XBMC Frodo 12.0 addon version is under development.
Why is my collection count different?
We require a small amount of information about the items in your collection to be able to match them to the database. When an update is sent, the imdb id, year and title are transmitted. The imdb id is used to lookup the movie first on TMDb, and then the title and year are used as a fallback. If you have media that is incorrectly tagged or missing on TMDb, then the movie will be skipped and not added to your library.
Where does all this movie information come from?
We use themoviedb.org as the source of all our movie information. TMDb is an open movie database populated by thousands of volounteers. We actively encourage you to improve that site and give back to the community by filling in any missing details at TMDb. To see a change you make there reflected on this site, you can hit the "Refresh Info" button on a movie page which will pull the updated changes from TMDb.
What languages do you support?
We currently fully support English. Multilanguage support is available through localized titles from TMDb. If you have a movie in your library with a title that matches the localized title of the particular movie on TMDb, the movie will be added to your library. If a localized title is missing, you can help the community and fix this problem by signign up for an account on TMDb and setting your account details preferred language to the one you would like to edit. Then, on the movie page that you'd like to add a localized title, click the edit icon beside "Movie Facts" and add a "Localized Title". Subsequent library updates will then find this match and add the movie to your library on this site.
How long does an update take?
Once an update is sent from XBMC, the update on the site should be nearly immediate. If the update includes lots of movies that no one owns on the site, it will take extra time to grab cast images and movie posters.
